This page explains what cookies CGS Hub uses, what they are for, and how you can manage them.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website; it allows information related to your browsing, such as your login session, to be retained. CGS Hub also uses your browser's local storage, notably to remember your cookie consent choice.
Essential cookies
These cookies and storage items are essential to the operation of the site and do not require your consent: Auth.js session cookies (__Secure-authjs.session-token, csrf-token, state, pkce.code_verifier, nonce, callback-url) keep you logged in and secure authentication; the vh_voter cookie anonymously identifies visitors for the voting system's anti-fraud protection (12 months); the cgshubs_cookie_consent local storage item remembers your cookie consent choice. The site's language is not remembered via a cookie: it is determined by the URL you visit (/fr or /en).
Analytics cookies
As of the writing of this policy, CGS Hub does not enable any analytics or advertising cookies. Should an analytics solution be implemented, it would be subject to prior consent collected via the preference center, in accordance with applicable regulations, and this section would be updated accordingly [TO BE COMPLETED IF AN ANALYTICS TOOL IS ADDED].
Third-party cookies
Some technical providers set their own cookies necessary for security or payment processing: Cloudflare Turnstile (anti-bot protection, notably on the voting form) and Stripe (during payment). The embedded video player uses Google's youtube-nocookie.com domain, in cookie-free tracking mode. Each provider's own privacy policy applies to its cookies.
Managing your preferences
You can review your consent choice for optional cookies at any time from the preference center available on the site, or configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies. Note: refusing essential cookies (session, vote anti-fraud) may prevent the site from working properly, notably login and voting.
Retention period
Session (login) cookies are kept for the duration of your session. The vh_voter cookie is kept for 12 months. Your cookie consent choice, stored in the cgshubs_cookie_consent local storage item, is kept for 13 months, in line with data protection authority recommendations.
